Japanese Sake Meets Italian Flavours in Delhi
The delicate artistry of Japanese sake found a perfect companion in Italian cuisine at an exclusive tasting event hosted at Toscano, Saket Mall, Delhi. Organized by Sake Mom, the afternoon brought together distinguished guests, diplomats, and members of the culinary and media community to celebrate the growing appreciation for Japanese sake in India.
The event was organized in partnership with Tulleehoo Education, and in collaboration with H.I.S. Tourism Delhi, reflecting a joint commitment to promote cultural and beverage education while enhancing sake awareness in India.
Curated by Ms. Mika Eoka, popularly known as Sake Mom and the official sake coordinator for Japan’s National Tax Agency (NTA), the event showcased six premium sake labels paired with signature Italian dishes — each pairing designed to highlight the versatility and elegance of sake beyond traditional boundaries.
The tasting journey began with Salmon & Blue Cheese Bruschetta, paired with White Wine & Sandy Coast – Classic Kasen Sake, followed by Garlic Prawns alongside Princess Marriage – Ikus Shiro Sake. The menu also featured exquisite creations such as Insalata di Burrata Parma Ham with Masumi Junmai Daiginjo Sanka Sake, and Ravioli di Pollo e Salsa Rosa paired with Hakushika Tokubetsu Yamadanisiki Honjozo Sake. The culinary experience concluded on a sweet note with Alphonso Mango Chia Seed Panna Cotta, complemented by Hakutsuru Asayuki Sparkling Sake.
The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India, along with officials from the Embassy of Japan, JETRO, and the National Tax Agency of Japan. Also present were representatives from the hospitality, travel, and media industries including The Wine Club & Wineglitz India, The Social Network, Asian News Channel, NNA, and H.I.S. Travel India Pvt. Ltd.
The Rad Elan team was also strongly represented, with Mr. Neeraj Pal, Pan India Sales Head, in attendance, further reinforcing the brand’s ongoing collaboration and support for promoting Japanese sake across the Indian market.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Mika Eoka highlighted the evolving palate of Indian consumers:

On a vibrant evening in Bangalore, Sake Mom hosted a unique cross-cultural dining experience at Toscano, one of the city’s premier Italian restaurants.
Curated and led by Mika Eoka, Master of Sake and founder of Sake Mom, the event brought together a carefully crafted 5-course Italian menu paired with 5 premium Japanese sakes — each chosen to highlight flavor harmony, balance, and storytelling in every sip.
In collaboration with the National Tax Agency of Japan and graced by the Consulate General of Japan in Bengaluru, the event was more than a dinner — it was a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and community.
Guests explored sake’s versatility beyond Japanese cuisine, enjoying surprising pairings with cheese, fried chicken, seafood, and desserts — all while learning about sake history, etiquette, and brewing traditions.
